Missions

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." Matthew 28:19-20 NIV

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace.  1 Peter 4:10

And he sat down and called the twelve.  And he said to them, "if anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all."  Mark 9:35

Serving is a key part of our mission statement at WIMC.  We seek to fulfill the Great Commission by loving and serving those in need in our local community and beyond.  We invite everyone to participate in our mission outreach in some way.

Our congregation supports many local mission ministries. We are involved with: People Helping People, Family Promise, Inner City Night Shelter, Wesley Community Center, PACK Savannah, Unto the Least of His, Safe Shelter, The Living Vine, A.B. Williams Elementary School, Salvation Army, and church based food bank.

Nationally and globally we support Mission on the Move and Operation Christmas Child.  We also serve as a drop off location for Operation Christmas Child.

Our congregation also partners with international missionaries.  Currently prayer and financial support go to James and Shelley Myrick who work at Rift Valley Academy in Kijabe, Kenya, with African Inland Mission and to A.J. Ford who serves with Mission on the Move in Santa Elena, Honduras.

In the past we have taken missions trips to Santa Elena, Honduras, and Tapachula, Mexico.  We hope to continue these trips in the future.

Our missions committee is always open to new ideas about how our congregation can serve as the Body of Christ. Contact the church office if you know of a mission that our congregation can serve.
