Ministries

Wilmington Island United Methodist Church has a plethora of ministries to choose from.  Whether you are becoming a member of a ministry, volunteering for one, or being served by one we strongly encourage getting involved! We have lots of specialty areas where you can use your gifts and tallents. Below we will list a few that we offer and give you a glimpse in to what each ministry does.

Children and Youth Ministries have their own pages. Please click the buttons below to be directed to them.

Church Family Supper

Each Wednesday evening we offer a catered meal and fellowship beginning at 5:45.  Cost for the meal is $6.00 for adults and $4.00 for children 12 and under with a  maximum of $22.00 per family.  Following the meal, from 6:30 to 7:00, our pastor leads a Bible Study. All are invited and welcome to join.  For reservations please call the church office at 897-2835.

United Methodist Women

Our very active group of ladies are comprised of 5 circles that meet monthly for fellowship and spiritual growth.  Each circle is active in different studies and mission projects.

Music

Music is a sermon in song. During the traditional services the Chancel Choir leads the hymns and presents an anthem using a variety of styles. The choir also presents a Christmas cantata, an Easter cantata.

Chancel choir is always happy to have more singers and practices from 7:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday nights.

The Handbell Choir plays throughout the year including the Christmas and Easter seasons and generally takes a break during the summer. Handbell choir is open to 6th grade through adult who can read music and practice at 7:00-8:00pm Tuesdays.

Children's music is incorporated into a part of God's Sweet Factory programming which meets from 3:45-6:00pm on Sundays.

The contemporary service is always looking for volunteers to help with the technical or musicial side of worship.  If you are interested in helping with the contemporary service please click on the volunteer button and fill out the form so we can get in touch with you.
