Sunday School and Book Studies

The best way to become incorporated into the body of Christ at WIUMC is through participating in a Sunday School class or study group.  Contact the church office to get the contact for each class.
Class for Christ:    A friendly, very diverse age group class with members in their twenties to senior adults.  This class is very Bible study and book-study oriented.  They are doing community service as their mission.
New Life:  A wide range of ages, opinions, and study materials.  Recent studies have included books from the Old and New Testaments as well as current literature from some of today’s respected theologians, with the focus on becoming empowered to be in ministry in God’s world.
Open Circle:  The over-50, mostly retired group.  The class follows a regular Adult Bible Study guide and does mission work locally, both helping families in need within our own church and with projects for Union Mission.
Pairs and Spares:   A mix of married and single persons age 30+ who use various studies for applying the Bible to everyday life. An open group that loves and supports one another, they do mission work both internationally and locally.
GoodLife Class: WIUMC’s newest class, comprised of young families, couples and single young adults.  They use a variety of curricula such as DVD presentations and in-depth topical, Bible studies
Cornerstone Class: Comprised of people 40+, this class studies a variety of material. Recent ones have been by Max Lucado and Ellsworth Kalas.
Friendship Class: One of the largest classes, made up of mostly older adults, they follow the Adult Bible Study series and have a number of fellowship activities outside of Sunday morning
Seekers Class: A friendly, welcoming class composed of various age groups. They use the International Adult Bible Study series for lessons and good discussions and sometimes even singing!
Single on Sunday Class: A wonderful group of ladies who study God’s Word and have fun doing it every Sunday!
Travel Through the Bible studies the Bible a chapter at the time.  The group meets each Thursday morning in the church fellowship hall from 9:00 am until 11:00 am with snacks included.    All adults are invited to join.
